    Ariel Swedroe has been named a 2020 National YoungArts Foundation Finalist in Design Arts!  Ariel was our keynote speaker at SGIA's Women in Print 3rd annual breakfast at PRINTING United held recently in Dallas, Texas.

    We encourage you to use your 2020 YoungArts Winner designation in your college applications, online profiles, resumes, and in interviews as you build your artistic career. The official 2020 winners' announcement and press release will be made on November 26, 2019.

    JOIN US FOR NATIONAL YOUNGARTS WEEK

    As a Finalist, you are invited to participate in National YoungArts Week held in Miami, Florida, where you will:

    • Work intensively with a faculty of professional artists to develop your work;
    • Convene with 150 fellow Finalists across 9 other disciplines from all around the country;
    • Participate in interdisciplinary and genre-specific master classes;
    • Perform/exhibit your work at the YoungArts Campus and New World Center.
    • Be eligible for nomination as a U.S. Presidential Scholars in the Arts (if you meet all eligibility requirements).

     

    To participate in National YoungArts Week, you must be able to attend the full program. Make sure to call your YA contact back to confirm your participation. As a reminder, the dates for the 2020 National YoungArts Week are:

    • January 5 – 12, 2020*

    *Please note that Classical Music and Voice will arrive to the program on Saturday, January 4th.

     JOIN US AT A REGIONAL PROGRAM

     2020 YoungArts Miami Regional Program is February 25 – March 1, 2020

     As a 2020 winner, you have the unique opportunity to participate, as space permits, in our Miami regional program (populated based on where you live). YoungArts provides participants with airfare, lodging, ground transportation within the city, and meals during this program. As a participant in a regional program you will:

    • Spend a week fully immersed in your art form;
    • Participate in interdisciplinary and genre-specific master classes;
    • Network with equally motivated peers in the literary, visual, design and performing arts fields;
    • Perform/exhibit your work in a multidisciplinary format at leading venues in Los Angeles

    In order to attend, you must commit to staying in the official YoungArts designated hotel with your peers and participate in ALL activities during the week-long program (activities are generally scheduled from 8:00am-9:00pm daily).To sign up for possible inclusion to the Miami program, you must submit your request by Thursday, December 5, 2019 by clicking on the following link: Miami Sign Up. Acceptance into the program is based off of your geographical location, discipline/category and then by lottery selection. Determinations will be made by December 11 and you will be notified of your status via email.

    YoungArts can provide an award verification letter that you may include in your college and career applications. To request a letter, please complete this form. Letters are sent via email every Thursday and Friday.
